O56 7 l ISU ' if 4 is ' ' fir? it--A 2 .1 ' ll iff. G , . ' Y ily ,X Ef fie .:zE.f'fe'2f 2 T This has been prepared to state important events in our history, which should be known to the world at large, in such a way as to arouse interest in the Class of '25, Experience has taught us the value of dividing history into epochs, giving each a characteristic name and furnishing collateral facts. EPocH No. 1.-Tin' Urrrn .lgfr nf flu' Fl't'JllI!lllll.-Tl105C of us who survived the eighth grade examinations entered Copiah-Lincoln Agricultural High School in September, 1921. Here we were exposed to Algebra and also introduced to Lating however, some of us have not even now a speaking acquaintance with it. VVe are sorry we have so few facts, but the records are in- complete, as is always true of primeval days. EPOCH No. 2.--Tflt' Swfllrrrzrzzr of lfn' S0f5ll0lI10l'I'5.-rIihl5 epoch traces the history of the Sophomores of '23 in Copiah-Lincoln. This was a year of changes, and we were overawed hy our new surroundings. VVe welcomed Mr. Ellzey as superintendent, under whom was instituted the awe-inspiring system of being called into the oliice. FPOCH No. 3.-Prriod of Junior Drfvrlofwmrrzt.-Great were the changes of our Junior period, for we discovered that few of the pals of our Freshman and Sophomore days remained. Nlany had lost heart through the intricacies of Algebra and Latin, others found the strain of school and social duties combined too taxing, and only the brave were able to endure. Quite a few Lincoln, but new ones join usually loyal, financial ruin establishing a Epocu No ed our ranks, however, so that our roll was not perceptibly diminished. Being un- honor was bestowed upon us by our Seniors. This honor came near being the of our class, for we were in duty bound to reciprocate with a banquet, thereby custom that was destined to live for future classes. . 4.-Jl1m1't'r11 Days of flu' Swnior.-The Senior Class of '25 has many outstanding characteristics. It has the honor of being the largest class that has ever graduated from Copiah- . , I iot alone in numbers does it excel. Miss Lula Stevens was unanimously chosen sponsor, due to her loyal devotion and faithful instruction during the crises of our Junior period. A flagpole was erected and dedicated with a fitting program, creating a greater sphere of patriotism among the students, besides greatly increasing the school's attractiveness. Often strangers inquired as to the name of the school, but usually they passed without knowing. Having acquired such a name throughout the state, it was unfair to the school that it should be passed daily without having attached to it due significance. Therefore, an electric arch was built, thus not only putting an end to these useless inquiries, but adding beauty, gracefulness, and novelty to the campus. Our class has contributed by far the greatest part to the literary accomplishments and athletic prowess of our school, entering into each with enthusiasm. Knowing that we will no longer be here to carry out our plans, we confer upon our sister class, the Sophomores, the honor and responsibility of holding high our standards and com- pleting what we have left unfinished. VVe hope that the school will continue to edit the CO-LIN, our year book, which has been started under the auspices of a stalii composed almost entirely of Seniors. This record has been offered in the belief that those who follow us will learn to prize their heritage more highly, and that they may strive to attain the heights we have reached when they see how gloriously this branch of the school trce has grown. 26 l 4 . 1 l i l i i l AW- mf -ii..
