BOYS SOCCER The Cardinal boys soccer team had a tough season in the Strong North Suburban Conference. The team was strong ln Juniors and telt this was a good building season. The highlight of the season came near the end of the year when the Cards beat number one rated Anoka? That win left Co-Captains Tony Mannella and John Moroz feeling good about the season andlfilled with hopefor the next years team. A NEW TEAM The girls volleyball team felt the pressure of living up to last years championship team. They were not last years team, but a new team entirely. Five of last years starters were gone, and rebuilding was taking place. They fought valiantiy all season against teams who were out to beat the champs, and they came on to show a strong serving game. The Varsity ended with a 5 win 8t 16 loss season, while the J.V. and B teams finished with winning 13 St 4 and 12 St 4 respectively.

NEW RECORDS SET As the level of competition in swimming improves, the times one must swim to break an existing record, to quality for a meet and to advance into further competition be- comes more difficult. The girls swim team met these challenges and completed a very successtul season. Each member of the team showed individual improvements as the year progressed. New school records were established in 2 events: 200 Medley Ftelay team ot Kyle Koester, Kelley Schrantz, Theresa Breitloach and Mary Emmen - i:59.13, and the 100 yard Backstroke - Kyle Koester -- 1:06.52 Coon Rapids Swimmers qualified for the sectional meet in every event. Then for the finals CR was re- presented in 5 championship heats, and 6 consolation heats.
