CONFERENCE TIE The 1979 Cardinal Football season was one ot comaraderie and team spirit, This squad of football players was very tight knit, and devoted to winning. And in the first half ot the season they showed it by averaging better than 26 points per game. The high- light ot the season was the winning ot our Homecoming game, which was a first in the last tive years. The big loss to Columbia Heights proved to be costly, as it resulted in a tie for the Conference Championship with Columbia Heights. And that ended the Cards hope for a state championship bid, The Team Captains were Mike Carter and Jeff Kahl. Dan Harris, John Yelle, Mike Cater and Jett Kahl were all selected to the North Suburban Conference team. And Dan Harris was selected to the All State Team. Con- gratulations Coach and Team on a valiant season. in L VL N,,, f1'5.,..,,. , Ia ' Go Cards S0
