D.E.C.A. AT C.R.S.H. DECA is the student organization part of the Distributive Education program. The D.E. program is a vocational cooperative educational program providing on-the-job training for students interested in careers in marketing and sales. The students are re- leased two hours early from the regular school day to work in a variety of local busin- esses. They work 15 to 30 hours a week, and wages comparable to their perfor- mances. This past year the DECA Chapter at C.Ft.S.H. was very active in competition Brad Fern, Mary lsom, Vicki Moebakken Jody Salisbury, Tonya Potts, Deanr Schweiss, Todd Trick, and Jon Jasper at tended the State Competition at the Down- town Badisson. There Mary placed third Jody won a second, and Todd, Vicki, anc Jon were finalists in their respective categor- ies. ln June Mary, Jody, and Jon are attend- ing the National Competition in Miami, Flor- ida! GRADUATION The final day, May 23, 1980, 667 graduating seniors rose to accept their diplomas! lt was a hot 188 degreel day, and everyone was cooking with anticipation. Mark Schulte and Al Sirrila were the class speakers, and Mr. Rainbow, Mr. Petersen, and Mr. Elmquist performed the honors. Al Sirrila, Scott Passenheim, Mike Scott, Kathy Peterson, Larold Olson, and Sharon DeFlemer were the class Valedictorians. Jody Johnson and Andrew Schlecht were the Salutorians.
