H.E.A.R.T. is refered to as Home Economics and Related Training, and is a youth organization designed for students interested in home economics and health related careers. Heart includes on the job training which is also extended into the classroom. ln the class students develop occupational skills which may aide them in present and future jobs. Some of the on the job training establishments are Just For Kids and Coon Rapids Daycare, Mr. Steak, Camelia Rose, and Dr. Jalos Dental Office just to name a few. Two big events in which H.E.A.R.T. participates are the Fall Delegate Assembly and the Spring State Leadership Conference. At the Fall Assembly Coon Rapids won a trophy with We're striving for a bigger and better H.E.A.R.T. as their slogan. This may have been your start in a career.
