P 21 71 j CONFERENCE-WIN Fianked second in the state, and loaded with junior players, the girls basketball team swept through the conference season undefeated! But the season ended on a broken note as captain Dawn Anderson snapped her wrist, and was forced to sit on the bench during region play-offs. The team charged into the regions by crushing Elk River, and then they squeaked past White Bear in over- time. Then came Columbia l-leights, a team they beat during the regular season. But composure left, and so did the Cards hope for a state title in the 54 to 40 loss. During the banquet, awards were given to Dawn Anderson as lv1VP'i, and Kate Poplin received the Coaches Award. Also Amy Jaeger and Dawn were noted as All- Conference and All-State players. 'M Undefeated Season 'bl I ' V- K!! Q ff ' 3 LS. ltlunnn-.
