Conway High School students have worked hard and diligently in their classes and extra-curricular organizations in order to represent our schools well, and many more plans are being made now for future endeavors and accomplish- ments. Conway High School students are fortunate to have the many opportunities offered to them by our own s chools, the city of Conway, and the fine colleges of higher learning located in Conway. Together with these opportunities and the deep loyalty and devotion the students have towards our schools, great things are being done and can be predicted for the finest group of students in ARKANSAS--THE CONWAY HIGH SCHOOL WAMPUS CATS H ' School Boa Mr. Ray McNutt rd President Dr. Keller Lieblong Mrs. Sherbert Benton Mr. Cecil Bell Mr. Cleon Koone Vice-President Secretary Mr. Willie Cardin Mr. John McConnell Mrs. Marion Lamb Mrs. Robert D. Its members help others locate books and other materials and help them familiarize themselves with library procedures. Assistants check books in, and out, shelve books, and further aid Miss Freida Cummings, librarian, in any way that they can. Annual social highlights are the Christmas party and the spring picnic. The Library Club has been an active charter member of the Arkansas Student Librarians' Association, and this year Judy Isaacs serves as its recording secretary. In November of this year the CHS band topped off a successful season of marchingby entering the Arkansas AGM marching contest, ln this contest bands were entered from all over Arkansas and surrounding states. Conway received a First Division, the highest rating received by any band in the contest. The tremendous success of our band is attributed to the capable direction of Mr. Russell Langston. The band is also an important instrument in building school spirit. The group plays at all pep assemblies, home football games, and most out-of-town games. After the march- ing season, the band turns to concert music. The year's work is climaxed with a concert in late spring. It is an organization which builds pep, promotes school spirit, good sportsmanship, and school allegiance. The main responsibilities of the members are sponsor- ing Hi-Day activities, the Athletic banquet and dance, selling score-cards, and decorating the goal posts at all home games. Persons wishing to become members submit a para- graph stating why they want to be members to the club. Then they are voted on by the members and the faculty. The people that are chosen become pledges. When these pledges have fulfilled the requirements specified, they become members. Without their spirit and co- operation the annual would be of no significance to the students. We have tried to present an annual to reflect the spirit of the student body and its meaning to each of you. Thanks go to the sponsor, Mrs. Arthur Dunaway, the advertisers, the students, and the faculty, all of whom have made this year's annual possible. The staff has worked hardg but they have enjoyed the excitement of rushing to meet deadlines and the joy of com- pleting each staff assignment. We hope the spirit will spread an'd that the 1967 Wampus Cat will remain as a record of one of the greatest years ever at CHS, Catherine Fitch, our competentbuslness manager, discusses financial status with the sponsor, Mrs. Dunaway.
