Junior-Senior Banquet scene in American Legion Hall. JUNIOR - SENIOR BANQUET AMERICAN LEGION HALL MAY 2, 1953 The annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held at the American Legion Hall on May 2, 1953. The tables were decorated with crescent moons and vases of roses to symbolize their theme, Moon- light and Roses . The Sophomore waitresses were correspondingly dressed in rose petal blouses and crescent moon headdress. The banquet was pre- pared by the Junior mothers. The speech of welcome was given by Harry Sanford and the response by John Huntzinger. En- tertainment included the theme song by Sandra Burke, and a piano duet by Nancy Anderson and Dorothy Johnson. The main speeches of the eve- ning were given by Principal Harold Moewes and Robert Kuns. After the banquet, the students, faculty, and school board dispersed in preparation for the annual Junior-Senior Prom. Junior-Senior Banquet from south-west corner of Legion Hall. Queen Margie and her four attendants. JUNIOR - SENIOR PROM nouGLAs COUNTRY ctus MAY 2, 1953 The annual Junior-Senior Prom was held at the Douglas Country Club on May 2, 1953. The theme, Moonlight and Roses , was used attractively in the decorations for the prom. A large moon was used for illumination and roses were suspended from the overhead decorations. The throne was a crescent moon with spotlights giving the effect of the rays of the moon. Margie Morton was crowned Queen of the Jun- ior-Senior Prom by Harry Sanford, Junior Presi- dent. Her four attendants were Nancy Anderson, Linda Brannon, Teena Froggatt, and Georgia Eg- gleston. The Junior sponsors, Sanford Vanderpoel, Don Miller, and Joan Rochford are to be congratu- lated for staging one of the better Junior-Senior Proms and Banquets. Special thanks should be ex- tended to the Junior mothers for making the Ban- quet a success. Close-up of Queen Margie in her Moonlight and Roses' setting.
