VVheatland .,...,,...,,., I K'Iml'0Ck '-------'-'---'- 4 Friday afterllooll was the scene of many a hard-fought battle. The first game was between Ft. NVashakie, a team of hard fighting little Indialls, and Mallville. Manville seemed to have a fast team but the Indians covered the floor so well that they were unable to get through to the basket. The Indians, using their close to the fioor plays piled up a nice score alld the gallle ended 2-1 to 3 in favor of the Indians. The next galne, Douglas vs. Buffalo, brought the crowd to their feet on the first play 2.1111 kept them there during the entire galne. The teams seellled to be evenly matched and it was a case of fight, hght, fight, from start to flnish. A couple of shots in the last few minutes put Douglas ahead and the game ended 13 to 12 with Douglas still on top. Glenrock and Hillsdale then played and although the score was somewhat 0110-Sided, the gallle was by no means dull. Glenrock got the lead from the first and kept it during the elltire game which ellded, Glenrock 30, Hillsdale 15. The crowd was given another galne well worth their nloney when Midwest and Lusk WCl1t the rounds. Although Midwest was much larger alld heavier than the Lusk team, it seems they couldn't keep track of the fast Lusk forwards alld so the unexpected happened. Lusk 7, Midwest 6. The last game of the afternoon was between Casper alld Lost Springs. The practice ellded with a score of 53 to 2 Ill favor of Casper. NVheatland and the Indians started the evening session off with a bang alld a hard fought 223.1116 ensued. In the end, but not until the end. the Indians VV6l1t off the floor defeated, 9 to 6. Their first defeat of the tourney but they were smiling. Our Bearcats are at it again, this time against Glenrock. Were there ally thrills? Ask allybody ill towll, he'll know because he was there. VVell, this was allother one of those last minutes games when some Hashes of brilliant tealn work again saved the day for Douglas High, The score was, Douglas 15, Glenrock, 14. Saturday afternoon the nerves of the Douglas rooters were again wrecked. A 19 to 18 win over Wheatland was the cause, wreck, alld result, altogether. Long accurate shots in the last few minutes of play again spelled the one poillt difference in score. The two final games of the tournamellt were played Saturday evening. The gyln was packed to its fullest capacity alld CVC11 the 017811 spaces under the baskets were filled. The flrst gallle was played between Buffalo alld Glenrock for third place, both ICHIIIS having lost one ganle. They were both determined to win and a hard, fast game was the result. The hnal score was 22 to 15 in favor of Buffalo. And now COIIICS the big game, Douglas vs. Casper for flrst place. Casper took the lead 111 the first few nlillutes by bagging three short goals. Douglas then begall to Sllap out of it but with two of our 111611 pretty badly injured it was nearly impossible for the team to play up to its usual good f0I'11l. The rest 'of the galne was an exchange of basket for basket, Casper holding the lead gained in the first few minutes. The game ellded 22 to 14, giving Casper first place, and Douglas secolld.

X'Ve feel that it was an immense success, even more than of former years and we look forward to many more such meets in the future. A light breeze prevailed all day but failed to develop into anything more than that. At ten o'clock in the, morning a preliminary meet was held held in which those who just couldn't put over the stud were eliminated. XVhen the results were read it was found that Douglas was going to have several chances to do her stuff in the finals. VVell, it's two o'cloek, the breeze is still breezing but the sun isn't rising.
