Douglas went into the game with a determination to win and at the end of the half with two touchdowns piled up against them. the boys were gamer than ever. In the last half Douglas came back with her one touchdown and showed the Laramie boys a real fight. XVHIEATLAND O-4l Douglas calne back the next week and won over the XYheatland team -l-l to U. This was XYheatland's first year of football for several years, but they showed up very well and in another year will need to be watched by all opponents. LUSK O-41 Douglas showed her stuff in this game against Lusk. Lusk was known to be a hard and low hitting team and had several games to their record. The score is not a criterion of the strength of the two teams because Douglas made ten first downs to Lusk's six, which would indicate that the teams are quite evenly matched. Douglas' knowledge of the game. coupled with some nice interference, spelled the difference in score. TORRINGTON O-71 y Torrington. the past years has. had one- of the strongest teams in the state and Douglas anticipated such a tveamg this year. However. the Goshen team was not up to the Douglas team that day. lt seems that this was the first time during the year that the team played as a complete unit. and a large score was the result. MOST SUCCIQSSFUL FOOTBALL SIQASON The Douglas High School football season just closed was one of the most successful in the school's history. XYithout a question the coach, Mr. Replogle. has established himself in the minds and the hearts of the football boys, as well as gained the wholesome respect of the people whom his team has played. Seven letter men of last year's team and several substitutes made nucleus for the formidable eleven in the field. winning six games and losing two. Douglas scores totalled .23-l points and their opponents 32. The team was rather slow in developing. anew coaching system having been introduced. In the last two games played the team was at its best. defeating Torrington 71 to 0, and Casper, 17 to 7.
