The 1972 Mountain Conference Champs posted a perfect 9-0 season. It was the first undefeated team in almost two decades. The team methodically knocked off opponent after opponent from North Star to Somerset. Our men were the best. The high power offense was unstoppable. Other teams tried and failed to crack our wall of a defense. Coaches proved to be an important fundamental in a win- ning season. Music for the affair was provided by the Kin- dred Spirit. This year's theme was Color My World with Love and turned out to be a huge success. 1 Q. Majorette Contest On March 30, 1973, the majorettes of C.T.A.H.S. captured the se- cond place trophy at the annual majorette contest at the Cambria County War Memorial. The squad also participated in and won second place in a majorette contest at Martinsburg on April 21, 1973. The members ofthis year's fantastic squad are Janette Rullo - head, Michele Weismiller, Sally Smith, Sharon Smith, Debbie Fisher, Judy Risch, Susan Rudge, Cindy Sambor, Debbie Naugle and Lisa Snyder. They trounced Everett by the score of 56-37 and edged by Bedford by the score of 53-50 for the District 5 Championship. Then next they surprised everyone by beating a WPIAL entry for the first time in Township history by the score of 102-79. With momen- tum they met Cornell, but they proved to be too much of a challenge for the mighty Indians of Township, who lost by the score of 64-48 and therefore ended the best season ever in our history.
