Here is, in brief, 'fthe annals of the Class of '70 . Tuesday, October 11, 1966 An article appeared in the daily bulletin which read: Congratulations to the Class of 1970: You went over the top! This is a red letter day in the annals of a sterling class that has everything-enthusiasm, determination, drive, salesmanship, and SCHOOL SPIRIT-to burn. Our appreciation to the 9th grade homeroom teachers for their cooperation. Our hats are off to the class officers and homeroom captains who were the spark plugs of the campaign. We salute you the Class of 1970. We're proud of you and glad to be part of the team. Class deans: Mr. Krevetski, Mrs. Clark, and Mr. Drenner, Principal. December 16, 1967 Our Christmas Dance was one of the most successful at C.T.H.S. From 8:00 to 11:00 the Senior High School danced to the music of the Kandy Kubbert and had an enchanted evening. Saturday, March 29, 1969 Our Junior Class Play, Hillbilly Weddin , was one of the biggest dramatic successes in the history of the school, both financially and in the area of attendance. The play added S500 to our treasury and there was a standing room only crowd. April 2, 1969-An unusual experience. Bomb-scare-called in to Mr. Herdman, principal, and to the local police on the night of April 1. Wednesday, April 2, was wet and bleak- rain fell steadily. Mr. Herdman, whose pet peeve is academic interruptions, herded his tlock into ten buses, the concession stand, and the little shed. After an hour of bomb-shattering a ntic i pa t i 0 n C?1 the students disembarked and returned to classes-relieved to find the building intact and order maintained. May 24, 1969 Our Junior-Senior Prom, another highly successful activity, was titled Oriental Gardens and was held at North Fork Country Club. Friday, June 4, 1969 An article appeared in the Contownian that saddened the members of the Class of 1970. One of our deans, Mr. Krevetski, announced that he had accepted the position of head football coach at another high school. He had helped us with all the previously mentioned activities, including the candy sale of our Junior year which netted about S1,000. As a token of our esteem, the class presented Mr. Krevetski with a wall clock. Class Meeting-May 1969 We contributed S200 to a medical fund established for Janet Mills, a graduate of Conemaugh Twp. High School who was critically iniured in an automobile accident. Much of our success as a class is due to the enthusiasm and leadership of our dean, Mrs. Clark. Our Senior Activities have followed in the established pattern ofa sterling class who always goes over the top.
