W Administration Our memories of Conemaugh Township High School will be sure to include Dr. Blough, Dr. Etsweiler, and the rest of the faculty, who have expertly guided us to the end of one road and the beginning of another. We will always remember their kind attention and helpful supervision. Although many rebuked the offered guid- ance, there will be many who will think back with respect to the advice given them. The faculty was only trying to do the best for our welfare, and the wise student realized this. As no bird can fly out into the world without his Mother's teaching, likewise no student will be fully prepared to join world society without some guid- ance from one of his childhood's earliest contacts-the teacher. 6

Supervising Principal Dr. Telford B. Blough June 26, 1939, Conemaugh Township High School graduated its first class of 70 members. Since that time over 2,000 CTI-IS students have joined the growing alumni group. The Class of 1958 is the twentieth class to receive diplomas, a distinction worthy of special commemoration. Those of us who were a part of that first year at Cone- maugh Township recall the beginnings with pride as well as nostalgia. Mud, crowded rooms, and a general lack of funds and instructional and extra-curricular materials sometimes handicapped our efforts. But high purpose and a sense of mission for the young folks of this community marked the dedicated eforts of citizens board members, faculty and students. In 1938-39 CTI-IS was the largest rural consolidated high school in Penn- sylvania, and our building was one of the most beautiful. Out of the debris of the depression good educational foundations were built. In this twentieth year we glance back to honor those who helped us on our way, but we hasten to join the Board of Directors in planning better things for the future-new buildings for the elementary children, ad- ditions to the high school, and a better educational pro- gram for all. In these efforts we ask you to join us even as we wish you Godspeed when you bravely step into the future. D Telford B.
