I i 1 The strain ot War has affected every school effort and activity, has changed men- tal attitudes cmd objectives. Any healthy boy or girl above seventeen years of age can earn a salary previously unheard oi. The temptation to leave school is real and destructive to upper classmen. The call to our country's service has depleted our numbers and changed their outlook on life. Let us who are left at home not be led away for the time being, but rather let us abide with the more lasting things of life and build for the future. Spiritual discipline and education cannot be displaced by any high salaried position. Benjamin Franklin once said, We deserve liberty only so long as we are willing to sacrifice some- thing for it.
