It is a memory book for the school, it is a history of a particular year, and also a reference book. Not only does it characterize our school, but also each individual of each age group that is in our school. Much effort and hard work goes into the Cohian, but only through your help and consideration can our yearb(x k be a success! It is prepared by the students and for the students. Sponsor: Mr. Thomas Frye Each month several students of C.C.H.S. publish a school paper entitled the Con-Co-Hi. In each issue, we try to express the past, present, and the future activities, not only for the school, but also for the community. Our purpose is to inform the students, faculty, and the community of What’s Happening”. Precise and to the point is the way we try to have all articles. The Beta Club The purpose of this organization is to promote the ideals of honesty, service and leadership among high school students, to reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students to continue their education after high school. Students qualifying for membership must have an average grade of 85 on all subjects; also worthy character, good mentality and a commendable attitude. Since the Beta Club is a merit organization, members who fail to maintain a creditable record may be put on probation. The Beta Club of Conecuh County High School has had many interesting and worthwhile projects during the past five years. A sign which bears the name of our school was erected out front. Also a flag pole was erected near the sign. Every morning Old Glory and the Alabama State flag are raised to wave and to signify the heritage by which we live. Shrubbery, mostly azaleas, was planted around almost all of the buildings. Contributions were made by the Beta Club at different times toward new lockers in the halls and also toward a new speaker for the public announcement system in our auditorium. 76 The Library Club The books we think we ought to read are polky, dull and dry; The books that we would like to read we are ashamed to buy; The books that people talk about we never can recall; And the books that people give us, oh, They’re the worst of all. Wells Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested. Bacon Reading maketh a full man, Conference a ready man, and writing an exact man.
