CCHS CLASS HISTORY Of the original large group of wide-eyed, eager six-year- olds who begin their elementary eduoation at Coneouh County High Sohool in 1938, only eight remain to wltneaa that scene. With Mrs. Marie Pate as our first teaoher. Easel Brown, Margue rite Claric, Charaian Deuel, Evelyn Graddy, Euline Reeves, Emma Sue Josey, Edward Beasley and Bobby Warren have advanced to Juniors. The first event that made head lines in our grammar sohool life was the presentation of our sixth grade exercises, A 1 p a Mater's Children. We received our diplomas and entered the sev- enth grade feeling that we owned the key to the world's suooess. From Kirkland that year Doris Worrell, Mary Alioe Weaver, Bonnie Jean Smith, Kenneth Kirkland, and Marlin Nelson joined ear class. Patrioia Oliver and Edna Ityrle Warren came from London. They all began their school life in 1938. In our sophomore year we presented a play, Little Women. The proceeds were donated to the English Department. Also, that year we won the Annual Staff COHIAN Queen Contest. Hasel Brown was crowned as COHIAN Queen of C. C. H. S. This was a busy year for the sophomores. Our home room mothers gave us a joint party with the juniors. Our first formali Overnight we became Juniors. Again our class orowned the COHIAN King and Queen of C. C. H. S., with Edward Pate and Etta Palmer as joint rulers. Another highlight of our junior year was the dramatio display of individual talents in the play, Boys About Bobbette . Quite a few of our members participate in sohool activ- ities t Charmian Deuel, editor of the Cohian, cheerleader, vice president of the F. H. A.; Patrioia Oliver, vice president o f the Beta Club, advertising manager of the Con-Co-Hi, president of the junior olass; Edna Myrle Warren, secretary-treasurer of the Beta Club, associate manager of the Con-Co-Hi, cheerleader; Milton Sullivan, president of the F. F. A.; Emma Sue Josey, president of the F. H. A., associate editor of the Con-Co-Hi, cheerleader; Edward Beasley, oaptain of the basketball team Edward Pate, sports editor of the Con-Co-Hi. This is only s bird's-eye view of Juniors who participate and hold offices in the various activities of C. C. H. S. With this as our History we expect to be more active and sore successful in the year 1950, our last year at C. C. H- S.
