l In Appreczkzlzbrz We Seniors wish to express our appreciation to Mr. XYalter Schoe- del, our adviser during our sopho- more and junior years. He became very close to us during those yeara, and the dorm stuilents gave him the affectionate name of Pop Mr. Schoedel added spark to our class parties with his new and novel ideas. Meeting us in the halls, he always gave us a friendly greeting. Having him as a close friend put the finishing touches to our four vears at Concordia. Senzbr Clan 'Hay back in l9-19, almost four years ago, a hundred and thirty-five bewildered and frighten- ed students first entered the beautiful Concordia campus. lt seems like only yesterday, but here it is l953: and along with it comes all the excite- ment and fascination of graduation, leaving your heart filled with warm memories an'l an ever- lasting remembrance of Concordia. Fven though the freshman year was be- wildering, there were many new friends, that first high school crush, and fascinating nooks anil crannies which had to be investigated in every building. Perhaps it sounds childish now, but it was fun then The summer passed quickly, and our sopho- more year began. lt was just wonderful to be together with all our classmates again. All the exciting class parties, hayrides, and the like left many wonderful memories. Then came the junior year, and oh, such fun. lt was our last year in the old building, 28 and we enjoyed it to the utmost. Thoughts of leaving it saddened many of us. but we were cheered by the anticipation of entering a new modern building and by the realization that we would be the first graduates of the new Concordia Lutheran High School. l,ast September began the fourth anfl nn-tl round for our class. It was heartbreaking to know that our life at Concordia would soon be over, and that we would start out anew, with new friends and new things to see and learn all on our very own. Hut far from the sadness was the Senior Banquet, the formals ancl the thrill of many social events Surely the many happy days spent here will always be locked in a little corner of our heart-not only all the social events, but the class- es and teachers, too, and most of all, the Christian education anil understanding we received from everyone. lYith this in our hearts, we can always say, lf God be for us, who can be against us T'
