THE DIRECTOR WRITES- - - lt has become customary in American secondary schools to publish an- nually some record of those students who are concluding their several careers at the institution or who have come to the termination of one portion of their training. and these booklets are usually highly illustrated with profuse evidence of scholastic activities and personages. Such records serve several purposes, for they are a welcome remembrance to the members of the graduating classes who in later life may relish looking over the record of the past and their part played, Furthermore, the school itself is favorably publicized by an annual that has intrinsic value and that strives to hold aloft Worthwhile ideals. The sou- venir booklet may also serve the purpose of being a rather accurate account of the scholastic activities of the school which it represents. The authors of this book and the classes that are foremostly instrumental in its publication herewith express the wish that this book may find favor with the reader and that it may serve its intended purposes in a high degree. What the annual lacks in expensive mechanical make-up or decorative embellishment it hopes to make up in fervency of spirit and well-meaning fervor.
