Art, Philosophy Clubs Arking, what if b66ZZLljf?U ONVINCED that art is an essential part of a liberal arts education, a group of art students reor- ganized -the Art Club, which had fallen into a state of inactivity. Membership was thrown open to the entire student body because the group desired to create an active interest in the Hne arts. The initial meeting featured a program of European slides pre- sented by Mr. Bowman, an art instructor who spent three years in Germany. The Philosophy Club meets once a month to foster the exchange of ideas on philosophical questions. Dr. Aalen, professor in theology from Norway, was one of their most outstanding speakers. Other speak- ers included Rev. Svendsbye and Mr. Grubb. Dr. Reidar Thomte, head of the philosophy department, is advisor to the club. Q 13.
