Friday 3 July 1970 Time 1007 Copenhagen Denmark With less than one hour remaining at sea and just before securing lines for the first time to Danish soil the men of Compass Island were greeted by an unexpected aerial caller. After several low level eye-opening passes over the ship a Royal Danish Navy helicopter matter-of-factly landed on the flight deck in front of many sur- Drised sailors. Emerging from the helicopter were two Danish airmen. While sam- pling a cup of U.S. Navy coffee the airmen took time to chat with several of the officers and crevv. Then after a period of about ten minutes the air- men ended their unannounced social call as quickly as they had begun it and the ship proceeded to Copenhagen. 7, -3 we , - M.-.. sq-..,,.:,U,--..,7.q-715 .v-my2,--ut-7,fgy-av-9-r,y..fP-.:,.f3-gg? if H-we sg, . -Q- l l l l r r 1 I 1 1 1 ii :Tiff-:,1'-i ? -'siliif-2-'Af QTY- ffl.52 ?'iZrf'ifT'T4 e'TE4ii?-. .ffzmf ii-'i:ss.vw 52 1- v fi, . .. 1 , .1 ' '-3. ..., .LH 'if:j.L.'s .LL ' ,-'-- ' -' L.'2','.1-v7.-5 f-12 u'ig.aa.,1L..t:':.:.d.ai.ii4,.'5FJ-nil-V '-J:-.:' 'f L '5' x ': i. lair-.....l 1.21 1 u.e-vit...
