The crew had time to adventure throughout London seeing everything from Winchester Cathedral to the nightlife of the pubs and discotheques. Sailors crammed in as much sight- seeing as possible in the short time. - ag, Southhampton After a seven day visit to Great Britain, Compass Island took her de- parture from Southhampton. Hating to leave, and facing a two week at sea period, the crew snatched their last glances of Southhampton and the peo- ple and countryside of England. l fix

Tuesday 16 June 1970 Time 1546 Rotterdam Netherlands lVIarking the end of a long sea and anchor detail Compass Island nudged her way through one of the busiest ports in the world. After mooring alongside ships from all over the world, we quickly formed a line for liberty call, anxious to see the Nether- lands. One of the cleanest ports of the cruise Rotterdam offered the men of Compass Island their first taste of The Continent.
