E ?ufu'cs azmsu The flolusa Chapter of F. I . A. opened the year with forty-one members, who set to work to make themselves better farmers. The following officers were elected: Logan Ash, President, Clair Shippen, Vice President. Joe lflrisey, Treasurer, Al Gomes, Secretary, Don Sandridge, Reporter, Fred Sandridfze. Sentinel. A county F. F. A. meetins: was held in Uolusa High School music building at which every chapter in the county was represented. lloy Triplett and A. Gomes of Volusa chapter were elected President and Treasurer. In January a regional meeting was held in Chico. At this meeting every chapter was represented by a speaker, two delegates and the advisor. .loe I-irisey entered the speaking contest on Agriculture On the March. He took third place. Roy Triplett and Al Gomes were elected president and treasurer, a great honor for lfolusa chapter. The big social event of the year was the Father and Son Banquet held at the Hotel Riverside, Mr. Davison was the speaker of the evening. Logan Ash and Al Gomes were given honors for being the two outstanding members, and awarded pure bred gilts by the Sears and Roebuck. For chapter projects there were barley, alfalfa and pasture land which were rented to members for their private projects The F. F. A. tractor and other implements did custom work. - , Hoy Triplett, now in the service, applied for the State Farmer Degree in January. This is the highest degree given in the State of California for accomplishment' in F. F. A. work. Mr. Johnson, F. F. A. advisor, deserves much credit for the accomplishments of the hish schooI's most successful organization. DON DAVIS
