Senior Class History In 1947, thirty-nine little boys and girls started on the road to learning with the guidance of Mrs. Shelhe. In that year seven of the students left to go to another school. Thirty-two of us went the following year to meet Mrs. Sarka in the second grade. In that year we gained 2 students; Donald Stemen and Sylvia Stalhman and lost two; Charles Wyer and Patsy Basinger. In the third grade our teacher was Mrs. Roberts and we welcomed two new students; Ruth Busick and Betty Martz. As we entered the fourth grade we were joined by Twila Amstutz and Steven Dunlap. Our teachers were Mrs. Basinger and Earl Smith. We had a pleasant time in the fifth grade with Mrs, Garver as our teacher. In the sixth grade with Mr. Hawk, we welcomed Octavia Cruz. Then finally we were upstairs and after the first few days of confusion we settled down to work. In the eighth grade, the happy union of our class was marred by an accident which claimed the life of one of our classmates, Gloria Amstutz. In our Freshman year we acquired many new classmates. From St. Anthony's came: Doris Verhoff, Joan Morman, Sharon Huber, Janet Renn, Carolyn Miller, Elmer Langhals, Eugene Hoyt Howard Schroeder, James Meyer Charles Meyer, George Best, Thomas Birkemeyer, Patrick Maag, and Robert Kissell. From Cairo came: Robert Graham, Kay Barnum, Wanda Bok, Alice Davisson, Janice Irwin, Janice Schindler, Sharon Wood, John Best, Ronald Foltz, Karl Terhark, William Thomas, and Larry Cattell. Larry Rodenberger came from Lima Central and Pearl Albright came from Delphos. In ouiSophomoreyear we lost Karl Terhark, Doris Verhoff, Celena Serrata, Peat! Albright and Sharon Wood. We gained Richard Moffet and Virginia Stechschulte. Our Junior year was sparkled by the prom with the theme of Hawaiian Cruise . In that year we lost Loretta Caudill. In the year of 59 we are Seniors. In that year we lost Charles Pugh to the Marine's. But all through the school years we have lost and gained many new friends. Now that twelve years of school are over, most of us are waiting for the graduation ceremony in which we will recieve the diploma of achievement. But still the memory of our school life will linger in our minds for the rest of our lives. 11
