wllttixafgiam THE HlSlllllU llf lHE CLHSS llfl95l Should you go furst and I remaun To funush wuth the scroll No lengthenung shadows shall creep un To make thus lufe seem droll We ve known so much of happuness We ve had our cup of loy And memory us one guft of God The years cannot destroy We remember our very begunnung as a class way back un 1939 How strange and terrufyung was thus new world whuch was opened to the 33 luttle tots These courageous luttle darlungs were Jean Benroth Joanne Clevudence Elouse Martz Dorus McAdams Gladys Myers Janet Seutz Phyllus Settlemure Carol Sue Smuth Aluce Ruth Tussung Bonnue Watkuns Verna Lou Wood Janet Lee Stover Vuctor Alspaugh John Begg Lester Busuck Leughton Buxel Jack Core Bully Dunbar Nolan Dunlap Robert Edwards Junuor Jones Duane Kohlu Mar vun Russer Carrol Roberts Jack Susson Bully VanDemark Borunue Jean Fenstermaker Ruth Aluce McElderry Wulluam Woodrung Robert Muller Naomu Spallunger Ruchard Roeth lusberger and James Burman We acquured three new students Colleen Sands Glen Hayes and Shurley Studer Of these three the only one who contunued wuth us the rest of our years was Shurley Movung on to the thurd grade we met Muss Wava Kurtz She dud her best to teach us a small part of the art of school What a year of battles among the gurls' Survuvung we contunued to the fourth grade Here we acquured Jack Dunbar Marlun Betts Paul Bauley Paul lrwun George Seely Galen Stoodt Roger McDowell and Joan Johnson Our teacher was Mrs Helen Schaller We stumbled unto the fufth grade and found Mrs Emma Sarka to help us We were happy to gaun Junuor Shuna berry Beverly Watkuns Donavon Shook Ruchard Rogers Jack Stout Gene Wood and Jack Parker Nona Altstaetter and Patsy Joseph were also new but they wuth Galen Stoodt and Roger McDowell moved at the end of the year On we go to the suxth grade Our teacher was Mrs Sheeley My' Wasnt she nice' We had a Chrustmas ban quet whuch we shall never forget We were so good un basketball we defeated the seventh grade Thus year we lost from our class Tom Cartwrught Jack Stout Jack Dun bar Glen Dukes Bonnue Fenstermaker Jack Donaldson and Lloyd Dunlap and gauned Janet Stover and Jack Roberts Just thunk now we are marchung upstaurs wuth our hopes hugh Sttckung together luke a gang of prusoners we went through the furst day After the last bell had rung we looked back and thought It wasnt so bad after all One mornung we were told that one of our classmates Janet Stover had been kulled by a mulk truck the prevuous evenung We were greatly shocked by thus news Our chapel under the durectuon of Mrs Wachtman was called The Snupe Hunt Our eughth grade year was very calm We shall always remember our chapel program Why Teachers Go Nuts The credut for uts success was due to Mrs Rudgeway Wow' Tume surely does fly Here we are Freshmen already Thus year we acquured many new students From Cauro Delores Altstaetter Dorothy Lackey Jum Faze War ren Dunlap John Reeder and Donalc' Wood from St Anthony Mary Ann Kuene Marulyn Gerdeman Franklun Alt Thomas Fuerst Donald Hoyt Robert Kohls and Henry Selhorst from Hammond lnduana Huram Bok from Wy andotte Muchugan Glorua Rankun and from Zanesvulle Ohuo Robert Ogle Hugher we go' As Sophomores we acquured Joanne Locker from Luma Central and Martha Dackun from Kaluda Thus year we lost Aluce Tussung Jack Parker Marlun Betts Bob Ogle and Tom Fuerst At last we bought our class rungs They were chosen by a unanumous vote Behold' We agreed Now we have reached our Junuor year For our class play we presented Luttle Women whuch was a huge success It was durected by Mrs Now and her assustant Mrs Lunk Our Prom theme was Aprul Showers What fun we had decoratung wuth mulluons of flowers Thus year Mary Ann Kuene wuthdrew from our ranks Funally we make ut' Yes we are now the mughty Senuors and busy as bees sellung candy hotdoos sandwuches coffee and potato chups at the games and at noons We even raffled off cakes at the basketball games What a gloruous tume we had plowung our way through the crowds of people tryung to sell tuckets for ut Our senuor play Luttle Men was begun under the durectron of Mrs Now but was produced under the durec tuon of Muss Barbara Jones Jeepers' l almost forgot how could we ever forget the magazune campaugn? Fun' but oh my poor feet' In the years to come the many happv hours we spent together as a class and the duffucultues throuch whuch we struggled wull be remembered as the happuest and fullest days of our luves Q 2 .
