C!-ASQ HISTORY The year was 1960. To most people it meant the innauguration of John Kennedy. To us Freshmen, it meant a year of change - from almighty eighth-graders to pea green scum. The leader of this bewildered mass was Brian Arbuckle, our class president. In the fall of 1961, wefagain returned to CHS and endeavored to live up to our name, Sophomore, which literally translated means immature, We elected Lynn Harrold as class president. The fall of 1962 marked the beginning of our Junior year. We elected Allen Lawrence class presi- dent, That year our great football and basketball teams brought us one of the most successful seasons our concession stand had seen to date, Shortly before Christmas, our class rings arrived. Not to be out- done by Twentieth Century Fox and their production of Cleopatra, we fostered our own brain child in the form of Seven Keys to Baldpate, under the direction of Mrs. Allen White. Swaying palm trees, and soft music was the illusion for those who spent a glorious evening in the South Pacific, our mag- nificent Jr. -Sr. Prom. Freshman initiation, the school paper, the annual, college boards and hordes of tests, college applications, senior prestige, one act plays, the excitement of Class Day, caps and gowns, baccalaureate commencement and the class trip - this was our Senior year.
