The game was close and exciting but Columbiana proved to be too much for the Tri-County team. Columbiana met McDonald for the first Inter- County game at the Clipper Stadium. The Clip- pers left the field with a 20-U victory over a rough Blue Devil team. North Lima was the second Inter-County win for Columbiana. The Zippers were no match for the fast rolling Clippers. The game ended, favoring Columbiana with a 45-O score. Springfield was the first league team to score against the Clippers. The Tigers fought Well but were out-classed. Columbiana won again and they were on the long end of the 46 14 score Columbiana traveled to Leetonia for their sec ond contest against a Tri County team Despite the classy competition the Clippers downed the Bears 18 O Canfield was the fourth league game on the home field. A determined Cardinal eleven led 6-O during the first period but the high spirited Clip- pers reeled back with a 33-6 victory. The fifth and final Inter-County team that Columbiana met was Lowellville. The opening minutes showed that the Clippers werent to be stopped. The game ended with a 53-O score in favor of Columbiana the Inter-County Champions. The big and final game of the season was with East Palestine on the Bulldog s field. East Palestine, a class A school, was Tri-County runner up. The game was very rough, but the Bulldogs brawn couldn't stop the Clippers efforts. Although hin- dered by many bad breaks, Columbiana won 7-0 and was very close to the goal at the final gun.
