f 1833. '1- 1 WJ! Student Council The Student Council this year, as in the past, sponsored dances, discussed various items brought up by the students, and took charge of electing cheer leaders. The council was faced with a problem of finding suitable places to hold dances and assemblies, since the gym was not available, due to the construction of the new addition. Several churches were found to be School Columbiana High School has maintained its library for a number of years. In the library, you will see encyclopedias, dictionaries, at- lases, reference books, fiction and non-fiction as well as a selection of magazines which are added from time to time. The college catalogue reference is on file in the office this year and they were very helpful to everyone who is planning to go to college. Filing, recording and classification are all according to the Dewey Decimal Classification t available for assemblies and dances were held in the pavilions at the park. The council con- sists of five seniors, four juniors, three sopho- mores, two freshmen, and one each from sev- enth and eighth grade. Iim Hum was the president, Dorothy Kabler, vice-president, Patty Hum, treasurer, and Francis Prizant, secretary.. Mr. Bailey was the faculty representative. Library System. This year the library was cared for by a faculty sponsor and two special recording librarians, Barbara Burket and Barbara Leon- ard. The regular librarians took charge during the study halls besides the two special librar- ians. They are lo Rapp, Alice Ann Hum, Ioyce Tingle, Ethel Eyster, Mabel Sprague, Alice Ann Fisher, Grace Horst, Gayle Zellers, Bonnie Iones, Patty Hum, Helen Ward, Tanya Karlman, and Betty Roesti who is not pictured.
