Class Councils Seniors Juniors The 1981-1982 Senior Class Council made a real change in our school this year. Karyn Coons, Rhodora Estigoy, Kristy Gildart, Doug Preuss and Tracy Tingly brought forth real leader- ship and pride to River. These 5 had many accomplishments: Homecoming Dance was one, but the biggest was the Senior Breakfast and Talent Show. This is one of the biggest events for Seniors and it went really well. The council worked very hard and we would like to thank them. This year ' s Junior Class Council consisted of 5 very talented and outgoing Juniors. Leah Arneson, Cindy Hogan, Kari Ooster- veen, Tim Potter, and Scott Smith showed real team work. Some activities accomplished by this year ' s council were, Key Chains, TOLO Court voting and the biggest job of all, Junior-Senior Prom. The Junior Class Council did a really great job and showed what real team work can do. Sophomores Starting High Sch ool can be an exciting thing, and with the help of 5 young ladies the year was great for all. Marijean Baird, Amy Gwinn, Shelli Johnson, Vicki Newbill and Sheryl Small real- ly came through with some great activities and fund raisers. Homecoming and TOLO decorations, helping organize assemblies and other activities made the year fun. Some fund raisers accomplished by these girls were: Baby Pictures Contest, and Santa-Grams. These girls did a great job all together and we hope they continue the good work.

Executives If you have a problem that hasn ' t been solved, it ' s probably because you won ' t get involved. This was the motto of the 1981-82 Executive Council consisting of President Mike Miller, Vice President Missi Dynes, Ac- tivities Coordinator Ann Price, Secretary Paige Gon- zalez, and Treasurer Darla Smarz. The council strove to better the activities, attitude and unity of the entire stu- dent body. Some of the basic responsibilities that the officers held included approving all purchases, and overseeing social events. In accordance with their pledge to get more people in- volved and better informed the council re-enstated the student representation system. The members of the council felt that indeed their goal of unity and better attitude was achieved. It was evidenced in the great amount of support that Mike, Missi, Ann, Paige, and Darla received in virtually every pursuit. Some problems were solved because everyone got involved. That made 81-82 a great year for everyone. Executive Council hopes that the underclassmen will continue in this, more spirited tradition and gives its har- tiest thanks to all the Chiefs at Columbia River during the 81-82 school year. ■EJ fiSJPv Exec ' s fearless leader Bill Mitchell.
