In front of the Prince's summer quarters El Palacio de Madrid El Museo del Prado 106 ARTHUR FROMMER’S USBON MADR1D COSTA DEL SOL During April vacation of 1983, ninteen stu- dents visited Madrid, Spain for six days. Along with their chaperones, Senor Price and Senor Passarge, they toured sites in and around the city Outside of the city, formal tours, provided by the Spanish Heritage Association, of Toledo, Valle Caidos, and El Escorial were taken. When not on a tour the students were al- lowed to see the city on their own. The most fun was deciding on which Lladro to buy. Lla- dros are procelain figures made exclusively in Spain. Leather goods, pearls, and shoes were also popular things to buy. Before the students and their chaperones knew it, it was time to return home. Although they've returned to the states, they have many souvenirs, photographs and memories to re- mind them of their trip.

Lisa Schwietzer From April 15 to April 23 a group of students and adults traveled to France for an exciting visit. The trip was organized and led by French teacher Mrs. Krasner and was chaperoned by her, along with Mr. Krasner and Mrs. Press. Eighteen CHS students, and eight other adults participated in the trip. The group stayed in a Paris hotel, taking their meals in both the hotel and in various restaurants. They took a guided tour of Paris and made side trips to the magnifi- cent Palace of Versailles, the town of Tour de Chartre, and the Loire Valley and a French Ly- cee, high school. The visitors also enjoyed learning the art of French cuisine in a cooking class. In Paris they had free time and a fascinat- ing array of opportunities to explore: the metro (the Paris subway), French films and plays, mu- seums, Paris shopping, walking through the city and its parks, tasting specialties, and, of course, practicing their French!
