Marge Spangler A1 Levin Stu Richter Campers listen and relax at a camp meeting. A funny thing happens On the road to Milford Palms get sweaty Throats get dry You wonder if you're ready You ask yourself why did I ever say I'd go. A funny thing happens When you get to Milford Friends bunk together Strangers move in You talk about the weather Soon you feel like kin who'd lived together years or so. A funny thing happens When you leave Milford The sun is shining Though the clouds are in the sky. You feel like crying After all the long good-byes. But you smile through the tears Cause you'll cherish all your years The experience, the growing, the love. The spirit of Milford. The lake.

The greatest thing about the camping trip is the freedom — not of actions, but of mind. We are not free to do whatever we want, for the trip is very structured. We are, however, free from many of our inhibitions. It's like a whole new world in Milford, Pa. People often drop their guards and allow them- selves to meet new people, speak their mind and just be themselves. The set-up of the trip itself helps people get their freedom. There is a communications period each night, the MODS are informal, meals are in one place and at a certain time, and the ASE at the end gathers everything together. Having gone on this trip last year, it was probably easier for me to put down those inhibitions, and once they're down, the trip changes from great to fantastic. If a genie appeared to me and granted me three wishes, one of them would be to make the world more like Milford, Pa. — Pam Dudzik — Jeff, Kris Holmes, Julie Koch, Pat Ray
