CHOIR AND CHORUS P roud could be the word used to describe the way we felt when we saw our beautiful new choir room and auditorium. The annual Christmas concert with Song of Christmas, and selections from The Music Man in our spring concert, were moments that helped fill our first year in the new school with many musical highlights. The choir was divided into two main sections this year: the main choir was composed of juniors, seniors, and several sophomore boys, the chorus was made up of freshmen and sophomores. There were small ensembles including a boys triple quartet, a junior-senior girls sextet, and a sophomore girls triple trio. Since choir became a solid subject this year, there were daily vocal exercises, sight reading practice, and music appreciation studies. To raise money for cleaning the robes and various other expenses, the choir and chorus sponsored a dance, The Autumn WhirL The officers of the choir were: Barbara Hood, secretary, Barry Hurtt, robe master, Elizabeth Walker, librarian, Bill Orr, stage manager. The officers for chorus were: Penny Deutsch, secretary, Jane Hockemeyer, librariang John Travelbee, robe masterg and Bob Koch, stage manager. Through the patient, careful direction of Mrs. Munns and through the enthusiasm shown by the choir and chorus members, our school has a choir of which it can truly be proud.

Needy families were cheered at Thanks- giving by baskets of food prepared and delivered by Sunshine committees. As was customary, the girls helped bring the yuletide spirit to school by decorating a Christmas tree in the main hall.
