T H E C O L U In School Days Still sits the High School by the street, The little Freshies sunning, Around it still the Sophomores grow And Juniors and Seniors running. NVithing Miss Hallowell's desk is seen, As friend after friend she numbers, The paper wads, the lovers' notes The hordes of Freshie blunders. The Black Jack chews just under the desk Their guilty owners betrayingg The feet that creep so slow to school To the hall go, not delaying. But a short time ago Mr. Ramsey Ruled over us in classes Lit up the welcome office room For eight grade lads alld lasses. He talked upon our weaker self His whole heart for us yearning For those whose steps were High School bound And those to home returning. Now our class numbers less Our freshie favors are more singled: But the faculty cheers and seems to bless The times we with them mingled. Pushing with restless feet, the Sophomores Are working hard as ever: For fear the little freshie class Their next year's nest will feather. We were a patriotic bunch As over the top we came, With our nice big sum on the War Fund We helped to play our nation's game. We also continued in penxnanship Our badges now are manyg And for this cause give credit to Burkeholder and Condon or not any. Still memory to the pedagogs Of the class of 1919. Dear Seniors, the laurels they give to you We too shall win, we ween.
