The Festival of the Mountain and Plain was an annual event held in the autumn between 1895 and 1899, in downtown Denver. A historical parade opened the event, with elaborate floats imported from the New Orleans' Mardi Gras. A Masker's Ball was held in Arlington Park-everyone donned in costume. The location has been changed to the CWC campus, the time changed to spring, and harvests are no longer displayed: but the communal essense of good food and music, friendly folk, and handicraft still remains.
