PETERSON, DILTS AND GAMMON Commissioners SENIORS Dignity and thought (sometimes), and the rush to get through college before being drafted into the Army or into war work . . . positions of new authority . . . controlling the TIGER, A.S.C.C., sororities and fraternities, councils, committees and the morale of the college . . . with Dale Peterson, Frances Jane Dilts and Rod Gammon as class commissioners. From the ever thinning ranks emerge the Coeds of the Week. The necessity for revisions in schedules . . . overlooking some courses and taking others newly required to meet service demands. Bemused tolerance for far-off frosh frivolity . . . frivolity of the senior brand manifested in a surprise sneak day . . . too much to do, too little time in which to do it ... a welcome Christmas recess brings more time for study, more study for time. An early winter slump as the class of ' 43 enters its year . . . cold weather and dreams of spring . . . panic as that crucial time draws near . . . colds, cramming and comps . . . relief, disappoin ' ment, celebration and dissipation. They have reached their goal ... or lost it . . . and the last of four great years is part of the past . . . they are the world ' s . . . and the world is theirs. 12 NUGGET
