The KEY Club also sponsored a KEY Club Sweetheart Dance at which time they named their Sweetheart for next year. Delegates from our KEY Club attended the first District KEY Club Conven- tion in Richmond. They now have plans to sencl delegates to the International KEY Club Convention in Dallas. Texas. The Masque Players got off to a flying start this year by presenting two one-act plays which were well received by a daytime audience of Junior High School Students and an evening performance for the community. A sneak peek into a girls' Pajama Party provided the fun and frolic for the play bearing that name, and 4'It's Cold In Them Thar Hills featured the wildest Hillbillies this side of the mountain. The club plans to compete in the District Drame Festival at Charlottesville in the spring. This will be our second year in the contest. All those who were in the competition last year agree that it was a helpful and rewarding experience. A three-act play is in the planning stage, and in the near future, local actors are going to give the club pointers on acting, scenery, and lighting. Dramatics is a Way of displaying a person's true talent by experimenting with many different roles. But whether the play is a comedy or a tragedy, the main goal is to make each performance better than the one before. They may never make Broadway, but thinking about it is a lot of fun.
