Physical development is the evident reward of participation in high school athletics, but the intangible results can be much more important to the individual. Athletics provide another way to grow and' to mature mentally and spiritually. The members of the various teams, and the cheerleaders who encourage them, profit greatly from each contest, be it won or lost. Good sportsmanship and sincere effort are important elements of athletic competition. Through athletics, participants develop the ability to think and act quickly and correctly. Throughout all contests our teams have exhibited the characteristics of true sportsmen. This year has seen the ending of one era and the beginning of another. As our school grew, we anxiously awaited our move into Group I-A. During the past year our Colonials played a fine schedule in their first season of Group I-A competition. Now, as we look to the future, we can anticipate an exciting care-er in our state's top division. Our athletic program will continue to expand, and, as we overcome the pains of growth, the Colonials will establish themselves as leaders. Even in defeat, We have been represented well. On every occasion the Colonials battled till the end, and many times they were rewarded with pleasing results. As We look back, athletics will be remembered as a highlight of our high school days.
