C. .. DEBATE SQUAD Back row: Mr. Wipf, directory James Thompson, Bill Lenker, Anson Bigelow. Front row: Freida Raymond, Mona London, Vivian Lenker, Hazel Pederson. The debate class, under the direction of Mr. Wipf, attend- ed many invitation debates with other schools. The question for debate this year was, 'Resolved: That the Federal government should own and operate all ra1lroads.n The negative of the issue was upheld by Anson Bigelow, Hazel Pederson, Vivian Lenker, and Frieda Raymond. The affirm- ative side consisted of Bill Lenker, Mona London, and James Thompson. Debates were held with Winner, Gregory, and Presho. The debaters showed outstanding work in the Sophomore debate held at Presho. An affirmative and negative team who took part in the district debate tournament held at Geddes were Anson Bigelow, Hazel Pederson, B111 Lenker, and Mona London. The debaters are looking forward to a better and more success ful year in 1941, as they will all be back except Hazel Pederson, who is a senior. 18
