Dr. Paschall, former State SuperintcTident of I ' ulilic Instruction in Vir- t, ' inia, has a sincere respect for hit;lier education and has done much to raise the standards and quality of education throughout Virginia. This fact is evidenced at William and Mary by the addition of several new courses to the schooFs curriculum, the plans which are now under way for the innovation of separate departments of Drama and Geology, ajid the increase of oppor- tunities for students to hear faculty and oH ' -cauipus lecturers. : Iost impor- tant of all, Dr. Paschall has been instrumental in creating an atmosphere in which students are eager to learn for learning ' s sake and not for the grade alone.
