lx.: ll 'frv' +V . rw ,- Was Your Mom Amazed At How Long You Could '.i 'r Go Between Washes? At least last year you could attribute the infrequency of doing your wash to the campus' lack of washers. But, with the exponential growth of washing machines over the summer, the blame could no long- er be placed on the administration. Event- ually, one had to deal with the postpone- ment of doing one's wash. Whether it was the gathering of all of one's belongings, fumbling for the correct change or venturing outside with an arm- load of clothes, the prospect of doing a wash was never enticing. Some went to great lengths to avoid the Maytags, even stockpiling certain essential items of clothing so as to extend the wash cycle almost indefinitely. The other option was to bring the clothes home, but that was only practical for a few and was cer- tainly not appreciated by the parents.

At times, the grounds crew seemed fanatical with their elaborate method of cutting the hills in front of Fenwick, their mysterious appearing and disappearing flowers and their twenty- four hour snow removal. lt was also interesting how the campus looked its best when the Alumni football game, Parents' Weekend and Graduation rolled around.
