Superintendent Elxerly' Hamrnack was horn in Evansville, Indiana, and graduated from Pride Consolidated School, Clay, Kentucky, as vale- dictorian of his class. ln 1931 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wlestern Kentucky' State College. He received a Master of Arts degree from the Liniversity' of South Dakota in 1932. From 1932 until 1938 he was principal of the Hortons Gap High in Western Kentucky. For four years he was district supervisor for the W.P.A.. 1'ladisonv'iIle, Kentucky. Hrs next education positron was as principal of Nortanville 4Kv I H1 h he vvas principal at 1vI0I'r.3llflC1d.
