Senior C ass eview
Although a bit bewildered by the rough schedule of tenth
grade, we found ourselves warmly welcomed to the Roosevelt
building by the Sophomore Reception. We chose Don Treacher,
Dick Shaw, Tony Gruner, and Bev Gruner as our class officers.
After a lot of campaigning, Rita Weeks and Don McCann
were elected to represent our class on the student commission.
Our first ventures at raising money were a bake goods sale
and a paper drive. By Christmas time we returned thanks to
the seniors for our reception with the Christmas dance-
"Snow Flake Frolic." This year was climaxed when our boys
outshined the juniors and seniors by winning the annual high
school track meet.
The summer before our iunior year most of us could be
found at Waterworks Pork, working in the concession stand,
our big proiect. When fall rolled around it didn't take us long
to get in the swing of things by electing Kay Arnold as our
class president. John Burton, Ruth Sanford, and Delma Scriber
served with her. We displayed our acting ability when we pre-
sented the mystery-comedy, "Ramshackle Inn." By sponsoring
a paper drive and a chop-suey supper, enough money was
raised to hold the annual banquet and prom in honor of the
seniors. Experienced from the previous summer, we found
working at the concession stand much easier in the summer
of 'l954.
Sitting in the front rows of the auditorium we all felt a little
tense and excited as our newly-elected mayor, Marv Picard, an-
nounced the beginning of our senior year. It was now our
privilege to welcome the sophomores by presenting the Recep-
tion, "Enchanted Woodland." For the second consecutive year
our class float won first prize in the Halloween parade. Stage
fright grasped many of us on the opening night of our senior
play, "Father of the Bride." The class officers were Larry
Waldron, Don McCann, Delores Shiery, and Tony Gruner,
while Bev Gruner and Delma Scriber represented the class on
the commission. After returning from a trip to Washington
and New York, our four years of high school were brought
to an end with baccalaureate and commencement. Fond
memories of the happy times spent in Coldwater High School
wfll remain with us always.
