It is up to weigh the evidence presented regarding their past four school years and to decide whether they are guilty” and of what. In Sept. 1942, thirty-six scared but eager cherubs started in with their first years of school. Out of these thirty-six only five of the original remain. These are Theresa Adams, Gary Sauerbier, Pat Van Patton, Carol Zeh, and Karl Zeh. In their Freshmen Year, they must admit to having elected for President Bill Larsen, Vice President Pat Van Patton, Secretary Carole Yohonn, Treasurer Louise Giacomi. Our main money making projects were a bake sale, selling candy, and sponsoring a music festival luncheon. Also in this year the Seniors sponsored a series of one act plays which, we as the Freshmen Class, won the first prize of $10.00. Finishing this year, they passed with anticipation toward their next job, hoping their new activities would progress as rapidly and smoothly as they had in the ninth year. The Sophomore Year was big success. They chose Roger Towner as the leader of the mob with Pat Van Patton as Vice Boss. Louise was to handle the loot. This year we continued selling candy but brought in a new “racket”. We operated” a coke machine which netted us a great deal of money. The big “job” of this year was the purchasing of our class rings. The Class gained social prominence and valuable experience from sponsoring the “Soph Hop”. In our Junior Year, Karl Zeh was elected to preside over the gang with Bill Larsen as right hand man. The evidence was recorded by Carol Zeh, with Pat Van Patton pulling the purse strings. The two big events of the year were the Jr. Prom, which after a little gang warfare we called the Prom Bali Hai, and the smash hit “Hillbilly Wedding for our Jr. Play. “Where were you on the night of Nov. 16? soon became a familiar cry as the Seniors served a long stretch and paid plenty of fines” in preparing for the Jr. Play. Although there was much debate over the verdicts, there is no debate over their fine acting. But it is their last year-the senior year-that tells the final tale. They got “under motion” by putting Karl Zeh behind the gavel, with Bill Larsen as Veep. Theresa Adams scratched the slate with the minutes and Betty Rawleigh hoarded the gold. With our advisor Mr. Wambold egging the mob on, the numerous activities of the year exploded to a start by “hauling” in $817.72 from our magazine drive. Pictures were next on the agenda, shutters were shutting with smiles, and flashbulbs flashing for about three weeks and the pictures were dispatched with great dispatch. After working on our year book we are going into hiding to prepare for the biggest job of all---Graduation. These are the facts which you must not and cannot merely set aside. The facts of this case speak for themselves. The evidence is strong. The class of ‘54 is obviously “guilty of 4 wonderful years of projects, participation and progress”. Their little daughter, Betty Karlene, accompanied them on their visit to town. All the friends of Karl and Betty are invited to visit them in their beautiful Adirondack home. Order your Xmas turkeys early. Quality is up and prices are down at local meat markets. All of us who attended last week’s reunion banquet had the pleasure of listening to two vocal selections rendered by Patricia VanPatten. The selections were Somewhere a Voice is Calling and Can I Forget You . Pat, a member of the class of 54 graduated with high honors from Keuka College last year. Her friends have been offering her congratulations because of the beautiful diamond she is wearing on that special finger. Pat, being very modest had no comments to offer as to who is the lucky man and when the happy day. The best of luck, Pat. Is your car giving you maximum performance? Have it winterized at your favorite garage. We are prepared to remove snow from your drive- way for a very nominal fee. The Mohawk Boys— Roger Towner Bill Me Innis Don Matthews Mrs. Robert Dunn, the former Joyce Thompson, was in town over the week end to attend the reunion. We were delighted to see Joyce and her husband. For the past year the Dunns have been living in the Blue Grass State of Kentucky, near Churchill Downs. There they manage the Dunrovin Stables . One of Joyce's horses Notcohoc ran first in last year's Kentucky Derby . School was closed last Monday because of flu epidemic. Get your tickets in advance for the Ice Revue of 1959 now showing at Me Innis arena on Lent Hill. Tickets are on sale in the Me Innis Block. Special trains will leave the Four Corners in time for evening performances. Sam Burke accompanied by a very pretty young lady was a guest in town over the week end. Sam is a graduate of Cortland State Teachers College and has been coaching basketball and football at Canisteo Central School for the past year. Sam doesn't say very much, but both he and his female companion looked very happy and that way about each other . Sam has led his teams to victory in all of their inter- scholastic games. The new super highway from the Four Corners to Tripnock was officially opened last Sunday. This is an unusual thruway with a speed limit of 70 miles per hour allowed. Have you tried Smile Awhile Tooth Paste? There is none better. Girlsl Give it a try and watch its amazing results. A tube given free this week at local stores with every purchase of Bubble gum. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Newton have moved to their new home on North Main St. Mrs. Newton will be remembered as the former Virginia Preston of the class of 54. Carol and Bill have been seen together a great deal and all their friends arelistening for wedding bells”. Cross crossings cautiouslyl Use the cross walk. Cross only with lights. Superintendent of Highways, Eldon Wager Karl Zeh who was senior class president in 1954 has reported 100 per cent attendance at the 1959 alumni banquet. Keep up the good work, classmates. You know we all loved old C. C. S. back in 1954 and we still do. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wambold and young daughter Josephine were visiting friends here last Sunday. Mr. Wambold is now Supervisor of Music at the State Department in Albany. Though years may bring some changes new We will feel a tie so strong Though some of us be far away Here in mem’ry we belong. Robert Doody who has completed the course for C. P. A. at Alfred U. last year, has left his position with the State Department in Albany and will open a very elaborate office in the Me Innis Block here. He will be prepared to help you with income tax returns or other financial problems. It is rumored that he will take over part ownership of a local restaurant. Amen Both the Governor and State Senator will be in Co- hocton next Sunday to break ground for thenew Cohoc- ton-Wallace subway. This new project is under the direction of Larry Lippincott. Money will not be refunded for loss of hair due to its application. Gary Sauerbier who is presently employed as In- dustrial Arts teacher in Painted Post arrived in town in a bright new red Buick convertible to attend the reunion banquet last week. Teacher’s salaries must have reached an all time high as Gary really looked the picture of prosperity. Back seat drivers forget all they know when they sit behind the wheel. The Better Driver's Association of Steuben County advises driving with your lights on at night. Also 2 hands on the wheel have been found to be better than one.
