That little old truck is Jim1s pride and Joy, When you’ve found that you’ve found our bov. Long assignments ain’t up his line; Hefd rather milk cows any old time. He s going to college from what we hear now. To learn new fancied ways to run a plow. But after all he’ll manage somehow To come back home and milk a cow. , '1 1 T t On September 5, 1939 the present olaes of 51 entered the first grade of the Cohooton Central Sohool. In the class room on that great day there were nineteen of us, all very exolted that we had entered upon the threshold of learning. They were: Alma Cooley, Joanne Cooley, Barbara Edmond, Maroelina Glacoml, Joan Hart, Agnes Keeler, Alice Sohliok, Margaret Sohumaoher, Era Cansdale, Margella Voorhees, Rlohard Beeohner, Roger Conderman, James Folts, Duane Green, Jack Kane, Walter Orr, Franois Sohnelder, David Cansdale, and Paul Cosgrlff. Only four of the original members are with us now. Through our long Journey we have lost some but have also gained many members which now make up our olaes. We entered Jr. High a little timid at first but our shyness was In the past as we became acquainted with our new system. Our first big thrill was entering high school. With us were Margaret Burke, Rlohard Beeohner, Franois Feely, James Deusenbery, Maroelina Glacoml, Joan Hart, James Rector, Franois Schneider, Margaret 8ohumacher, Donna Towner, and Clara Wlllet. In our Freshman year, Mies Ruth Hloks, was our advisor. The Big shots were Franois Feely, President; Francis Sohnelder, Vloe President; Margaret Sohumaoher, Secretary; Donna Towner, Treasuer; Joan Hart, News Reporter. The only social event we held was a bo eoolal. This netted us $8.35. At the beginning of our Sopnomore year, Mrs. Luevanos was ohosen as our olass advisor. Our beloved Miss Hloks had Joined the teaohlng staff of another school. Offloers that year were: Margaret Burke, President; Franois Feely, Vloe President; Clara Wlllet, Secretary; Maroelina Giaooml, Treasurer; Joan Hart, News Reporter. Our first danoe was held with Warner Bush's orchestra. We oleared some profit and thus felt very successful. At the Dairyman's League we sold refreshments which netted us $121.25. A bake sale was held but the earnings were small. It was during our Sophomore year that we bought our olaes rings. We were very proud of them and were sure we were notloed flashing them around. For assembly we put on our first play, Cornin' Round the Mountain. At this we were a bit green but the fun was well worth the work. Upon entering the Junior Class our first money making event was oheoklng ooate at the potato convention. A danoe was our next undertaking. At Christmas time our olaes had a party at Rlohoraft. After eating we opened our gifts and made a recording. The Jr. Play, Trouble Shooter, was held Maroh 31, 1950. This proved to be successful. Our Jr. Prom was the first to break even. The theme was Tropical Nights, with the music being furnished by the Mid Shlpmen. Offloers that year were: Margaret Burke, President Franois Feely, Vloe President; Donna Towner, Secretary; Joan Hart. ’ Treasuer. At last we are SENIORS 11 The activities through out the year were: A magazine drive, one-act play festival, selling of fruit oakes, the Sr. Play, and an operetta.
