Seniv JANET BEST Secretary DON SCHIERMAN ASB Reprerenlative DIANNE BURCH President JERRY LAHAIE Trearufer Ofieers CLASS HISTORY In September, 1949, this year's Seniors entered the high school to become known as those awful fresh- men, but in the last three years have done a lot to erase this impression. To start the class on its way, Ray Lyon was elected President, and to assist him Kathy Payne, Treasurerg Marlys Jackson, Secretary, and Lee Brack, Vice Presi- dent, were chosen. Sally Rust represented the class in the ASB Senate. In our Sophomore year President Gary Robertson led the class in its struggle for recognition. Assisting him were Vice President Gail Hayes, Secretary-Treasurer Ray Lyon, and ASB Representative, Bob Scott. A class picnic in the City Park was well attended annd gained our class a reputation as up-and-coming. In the fall of 1952, on becoming upperclassmen, we elected Gary Robertson as President to lead us through our first real year of problems. Bob Scott as Vice Presi- dent, Marlys jackson as Secretary, and Melvin Schmidt as Treasurer, assisted the President in this, the most important year up to this date. Arloah Norelius served as ASB Representative to present our classes ideas to the Senate. To finance the junior Prom the class spon- sored the Harvest Hop, a sport dance, on November 24. Early in March the class received their class rings. They were of yellow, rose, and white gold, with a raised black enamel crest backing the letter C. The numerals of our class are enameled on the band. On March 28 the junior Prom, Moonlight and Roses, amazed the students with its beauty. In our last and most memorable year Dianne Burch led the class as President. janet Best, jerry Lahaie, and Don Schierman assisted the President as Secretary, Treas- urer, and ASB Representative. With other school events the class still found time for their memorable Senior Ball and the events of graduation. Baccalaureate and graduation on May 17 and 20 were events that the class of 1953 will never forget.
