CLASS HISTORY The colorful class of 1952 has done quite well in making a name for itself during the past four years of its existence here at CHS. Starting the class on its way, was President John Ashley. Of the assistance of Alfie Beaulieu as Vice President, Billy Posey as Secretary and Pat Dennis as ASB Representative, our class survived through its first big struggle toward great accomplishments. Among the first of these was a roller skating party that was enjoyed by all the members of the class. As our Sophomore year opened we began to fit in to the usual pace of high school students. With the help of Ray Endicott as President, Don Peterson as Vice President, Kay Chamberlin as Secretary and Elmer Filler and Janet Moser as ASB Representatives, the class had a successful year from beginning to end. Making us Juniors and upperclassmen, the third year found us fully prepared to accept our responsi- bilities. The class was led by President Ray Endicott. Elmer was Vice President, Bonnie Peoples for Secre- tary and Sonny Long ASB Representative. The main highlight for that year was the Junior Prom held March 30, 1951. The theme, the elaborately decorated Stairway to the Stars, was said to have been one of the most beautifully decorated formal dances ever given at CHS. Class rings were another well remembered feature in the diary of this class. These rings were made of gold and black enamel with the numbers 19 and 52 on each side of a C on the top of the ring. They were given the spring the class were juniors. The fourth and last year slipped away faster than any. There were a long line of events taking place this year, besides all the games, plays, and all that hap- pens every year. To start things off the class elected LaDonna Jensen for their President, to assist in lead- ing the class were Alfie Beaulieu, Vice President, Dan Pilkington, Secretary, Sonny Long, ASB Representa- tive. First graduation pictures were in the making, then the Senior Ball held that spring. Last, but not least, was the biggest and greatest accomplishment, they had worked hard to achieve all during their life- time of education. Baccalaureate and graduation, May 25 and 28. Thus the high school history of the class of 1952 was ended. They leave here to take their places in the world of today. It used to be Sherman Avenue but it has been renamed after the famous Arctic explorer BEATRICE NUTTELMAN. At the head of the procession is JOANNE SMOCK, still carrying a torch. Next comes a banner proclaiming CAROL HUTSELL for President in ,76.', It is car- ried by DICK KORNBACHER, next First Gentleman of the Land, and JOANN REY- NOLDS, future Secretary of State. ALFIE BEAULIEU is also running for President . . . as if a man could ever get elected in this day and age. His campaign manager is DICK RICE, master politician. Here comes a newspaper floating toward us. It is named DAN PILKINGTON'S Press but some old-timers persist in calling it the Coeur d'Alene Press. Look at those headlines! CAROL HORNING swims Atlantic, BILL POWELL sails around the world on his bass viol accompanied by his brother FRANK POWELL on the piano. They won't have to give the piano haircuts while they're gone as it is a Baldwin piano. SHIRLEY BRANDVOLD tries same trick on her cello. It is upset by a typhoon in the China Sea and rescued by JACKIE WEISER, Jackie was cruising in her ninety foot yacht when Seacook RAY MELVIN spotted Shirley swimming around. MICKEY MYLAN wins Soap Box Derby! RAYMOND ENDICOTT opens hotdog stand at Fourth and Nuttelman, it is rumored that he started on a shoe string, potato, that is. MARGARET POST, former U. S. President sells deep freezers to Eskimoes and makes much cold cash. Let's find a new mudpuddle and a nice round oil spot. Here's DON PETERSON on his one hundred thousand acre estate where he is engaged at his hobby of ditch-digging. His ditch is thirty thousand miles long and covers three oceans. BONNIE PEOPLES supports this enterprise by working at the Ben Franklin store, which is owned by capitalist GEORGE HAYES. SONNY LONG is Don's gentleman's gentleman. Don's television set is turned on and we can see FRITZ KINDLER leading the Lolly Pops Philharmonic Orchestra. We are very lucky because we just missed BURT LENTS, the worst comedian on television. The next program will be a telastory starring GLEN ERICKSON and JANET URBANEK in a revival of The Three Bearsi' as written by GEORGE WILSON. EVELYN ROE and STEVE ANDERSON have supporting roles. They hold up the scenery. EDWIN GLASCO plays a private eye and PEARL KUYKENDALL has a role as Paul Revere. George really used his imagination in writing this version of The Three Bears. HARVEY HERRIGSTAD is master of ceremonies on a show which consists of sound effects left over from other shows and a singing commercial about MAXINE HUNT'S prune and pickled-pineapple popovers. MARVIN COWAN is a television cow-poke in a show called Stagger along Sassifrassidyn sponsored by DUNCAN CARNIE Inc., manu- facturers of Mush Wush, sensational new breakfast food. LOIS RUDE runs a quiz show, Quizzing Crackpots sponsored by KEITH NIXON and ELMER FILLER, designers of Ladies' chapeaux fin other words, hatsj. ALICE KIRKHOVEN won the state of Texas on a quiz program. When asked to name two personal pronouns she just said, Who, me?', KAY CHAMBERLIN was exiled to Siberia for not knowing the atomic number of SALLY ORR'S mocha cakes. Bon voyage, Kay. On his weekly show CLIFF AGAR has a pet dinosaur whom he caught in Outer Mon- golia. According to the current telecast, JIM KELLY and ZIP JOKI have designed a new flying saucer. With FRED LANORE as pilot they are leaving today for the moon. Bon voyage to you, too. LEON AGEE rides around in a rocket ship driven by one of his own tied flies, a Royal Coachman, no less. BOB JOHNSON is a banker so he spends all his time trying to defeat Champion LEROY MERKEL at golf. He never succeeds because his hockey stick makes such a lousy putter. Here's a long distance oil spot. Let's look . . . no, not that! FRITZ GRAHAM is presi- dent of the University-of Idaho. RONNIE YOUNGMAN is professor of English Literature and philosophy and KATHY MARSAN teaches paleontology and archeology. FRANCES FULLER is professor of Brooklynese dialects. DARLENE DICKES is appearing with Jike Spones and his band, not as a singer but as a bazooka player. KAY JOHNSON accompanies her on the tuba. CLARE SWENSON draws a comic book called Mantroid Barnswallow, Boy Hangman. NELLIE CLARK is still ringing bells, door bells. She tries to sell Clare's comics. CLAIR WHITE is touring the country with his famous speech How to get across Nut- telman Avenue in the Dead of Winter. EUGENE FLEGEL paints pictures that are so abstract he doesn't know what they are himself. This oil spot is getting too refined. Here's a big one. Wow! There goes NANCY COL- LIER in a shocking pink convertible with leopard-skin upholstery. We wouldn't be so sur- prised, but the leopards are still alive. JOHN REED is trying to sell an old 1909 model T. When he bought it it was just another lovely piece of junk but now it's a collector's item and that takes all the glamor away from it. The Broadway season this year opened with DICK BARNWELL'S production of Mac- beth, Dick took the lead and was acclaimed all over the place as being funny without being vulgar. EVERETT LAKE is starring in JOYCE GEREN'S masterpiece, Death of an Oyster. We hear he has great possibilities as a romantic lead. We always knew side- burns must be good for something. JOYCE TAIPLE in The Whitings of Whipperwill Street is considered another Lucy Appletree fby the way, who is Lucy Appletree?J. DELLA LYNN is an actress too, but she writes for a living, writes home, that is. SHIRLEY LEONARD writes a soap opera entitled Lucy,s Lovelorn Lollypopf' Starr- ing as the lolly pop is EDITH HARRIS, a sucker for the part. JIM FIELDS creates those awful tongue twisters nobody can say-or stomach either! ZORA GEIGER runs the cosmetics department in one of JOANN WALLACE'S stores.
