CHS TAccrecfitecf Sy Southern 71 ss o eta t ion At the beginning of this school year, Coeburn High School was evaluated by a visiting committee repre- senting the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. The committee’s purpose was to de- termine whether or not Coeburn High School was ac- ceptable for membership in the Southern Association. After observing the educational process at Coeburn High School, the committee commended that Coe- burn High School be admitted to the Southern Associa- tion. Coeburn was the first school in Wise County to receive membership. This is the highest accredita- tion that C.H.S. could receive, and we are proud to be recognized as a truly excellent high school striv- ing to meet the needs of each individual student. We are deeply indebted to Mr. B. J. Dotson, our former principal, for his leadership and service in the accreditation of Coeburn High School by the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. We wish to thank the faculty for the time and hard work they did to make this possible.
