Principal Spring, which is indeed a pleasant time of the year, signifies the beginning of a new season and a new era for our departing seniors. During your years as a student at Coeburn High School, you have developed attitudes, approaches, and abilities to co- incide with the rapid changes in our society. Above all, I strongly believe each graduate of our school should possess and display certain graces and refine- ment of character that mark him as a gentleman, easily at home in the company of his fellows in what- ever situation he may find himself. Since education has been the bulwark in preserv- ing our past heritage, it becomes imperative that every student use education to settle his mind, to awaken it; to stablize it, to unloose it, and to mold it, once in order, that it may be remolded anew. It is always fascinating to watch graduates as they receive their diplomas. Usually there are as many different expressions as there are graduates. Basically, it is an end to many years of planning for a successful high school career and the begin- ning of long range plans that will be offset by change, which each of you must learn to manage, and indeed enjoy. jS . 9 . — 1 I j v 1 U j HHhHHI l QE Mr. B.
