Presented by: Mr. Lawton - ddin ton I eDurn uocnrnijnity Library Loriesoiriw Brie Regional foreword On behalf of the Senior Class, we the Annual Staff of Coeburn High School, wish to present the twenty-ninth edition of the Reflector. We hope that this Reflector will convey our deepest appreciation for five very successful years of high school. We offer this as a token of our thanks to a faculty who has been considerate and helpful in all our years of attendance and who is only worthy of the highest praise. This book holds many lasting memories of years gone by at Coebum High School and a wish for success in the future to Mr. Dotson, the faculty, and the never- ending train of students who are yet to complete their education. !rtTrn[: n Pi H 13 ||H - ' ’l ’ ( IS rm 2 ( CHtenta c dmmi tration and faculty eature emotivities omtklotics orndvertisemonts . 11 .21 81 53 73 91 3 School-1965 die Marion Que ew erry dedication With greatest pleasure, we dedicate this twenty-ninth edition of the Reflector to two of the most efficient and considerate teachers of Coeburn High School. Mrs. Unita Odle works closely with her students, is very understanding, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. She has shown herself as a great asset to the student body as a whole, to this school, and also to this community. We know she will continue to be a wonderful teacher, and we hope to retain her at Coeburn High School for many years to come. i Mrs. Marion Quesenberry is a teacher who has rendered many dedicated years to Coeburn High School and its students. It is with p 1 e a s ur e that we dedicate this annual to her as only a small token of appreciation. Mrs. Quesenberry has been a devout friend and valuable teacher to every student at Coeburn High School. Her valuable guidance has helped to lead the students in the right steps to their careers. i 10 cAdmini trcition sM aculty 11 riftcipal’a ftl Aaeige Ihis moment happily recalls former years when it was my rare privilege to welcome you to our school and to work with you as you continued your education. It is with the deepest sense of humility that I express my appreciation to the Hand of Destiny in having permitted me to engage in so great a cause, and now in affording me this welcomed opportunity to participate in the last few activities of your high school career. In addition to the basic skills you have attained, you should have developed a foundation for character and citizen- ship and an appreciation for certain values. This, I be- lieve, is what all students must attain before leaving high school. Our past, present, and future society is predicted on this concept of education. It is easy to define certain phases of education; how- ever, it is more difficult to accomplish these goals. I sincerely hope that each of you has made this accomplishment and that you will be able in the future to deliberate, to reflect, and to act. s j d aaiatant principal •Secretary Mr. Hansford Welch Mrs. Billie Jordan (guidance Department Left to Right: Mr. Paul Rier, Mrs. Marion Quesenberry, Miss Joan Roberson, Mrs. lila Johnson, and Mrs. Nancy Dotson. 13 iSuperintendefit birector oj W nAtruation Mr. W. The members of the Student Council represent home rooms and are respon- sible for the needs of their respective homerooms. This is the first year that Coeburn S. C. A, has be- come affiliated with the state organization. The P. T. A. and S. C. A. will jointly sponsor delegates to represent Coeburn in the State S. C. A. work shop. Seven of our members attended the Natiaral Tunnel District meeting that was held in the fall. This year the council was coordinator of the Home- coming activities.
