Perry Richardson Murray Watson 3 Mrs. Carll DEDICATION CEREMONIES OF THE TOWLE-SWAIN MEMORIAL RESOURCE CENTER Roy V. Swain was a graduate of the Academy as well as a former teacher and trustee. Mr. Swain was active in church, Y.M.C.A.,and town activities. William H. Towle graduated form the Academy and served on the Board of Trustees for forty-five years. He, too, was active in community affairs. Mr. Robert Johnson Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Ankud, Mr. Leskowitz, Mrs. Carll, Miss Miriam Towle . Extertainment provided by our Folksingers. 4 Mrs. Paul Welch Guest Organist Walter Leskowitz was Headmaster at the Academy from 1950 to 1957. An interest in the fine arts developed under his leadership. Vincent P. Skinner, Headmaster of Coe-Brown Academy, dedicated The Walter Leskowitz Memorial Collection of Fine Arts Theresa Davidson, Student Council President, accepted the plaque for the Student Center. Beverly Bailey, Soloist Mrs. Leskowitz, wife of the Headmaster, taught art classes at the Academy. 5 Mr. Skinner graduated from the University of Vermont in 1960 where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and honors in 19th Century English History. He received his Masters of Education degree at the University of New Hampshire in 1965. In 1967 he received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Boston University. He is currently a candidate for a Master of Arts degree at The Bread Loaf School of English of Middlebury College, 1968. Piior to becoming Headmaster at Coe-Brown Academy, Mr. Skinner was Chairman of the English De- partment at Sanborn Seminary; Instructor and Co-ordinator for Advanced Placement Exams of College Boards; Supervisor of Student Teachers at the University of New Hampshire, 1962-1965; Supervisor of Instruction at Salem High School, 1966; Language Research Program Design for the Appalachia Educa- tional Laboratory, 1967. Mr. Skinner is also the author of eight professional articles on linguistics and reading. 6 6 Vincent P.
