TO THOSE With proud hearts striving all to lend Their best to theirs and those Holiday happiness seemed to wend Its way through all hard woes. The small town cried, Our kids have won. All hearts were close and warm For e'en when we'd lost every one The town had cheered us on. All lights were lit and bells were rung Whole families gathered to sup Reward had come and in unison From cold winter, spirits rose up. Families worked and scrimped and saved And men spoke and signed names Our kids have won. They should be praised. The champs of the basketball games. And when all was settled and ready Jackets present -- the tables all set. All around the faces were steadied For our big moment — basketball banquet. 2 LAURIE BLANCHARD
